Google and the FCC
I don’t know how wise it is to insult the FCC, but I admire the honesty of Google’s general counsel, and more to the point his description is right on the money. It will be great if more companies will be busier developing instead of lobbying at Washington.

No tag for this post. But even with that looming, Google general counsel Andrew Mclaughlin says many in Washington would rather not get the FCC involved in the Internet at all. “The FCC sucks,” Mclaughlin says. “Why would you want the FCC to get involved in anything? Its track record is pretty bad when it comes to processes and outcomes.”

Have you ever seen Penn Teller's show Bullshit on Showtime? They have an episode about profanity, and they ruthlessly attack the FCC's hypocrisy, and, indeed, the unconstitutional court ruling that affects our lives to this day.
This thing with Google and the telcos is not directly related, but it is relevant because the FCC should deal with technical issues only. Allowing them to regulate the field against the consumers' best interest is appalling, and is exactly what is wrong and corrupt about the government.
