It looks obvious

I want my money back, the title of this WSJ column is simply a false advertisement.

I was very interested to see what method of intellectual flexibility requires to argue that McCain run echos Goldwater legacy. Apparently all that requires is to title your column with the argument and than to completely ignore it, or even to refute it, in the column itself. After all most of the people don’t bother reading more than the title.

Tomorrow’s titles: “McCain Run echos Gandhi legacy, despite the fact that it isn’t”.

Do you care to guess who wrote this:

Since leaving office I’ve written about public policy from a new perspective: outside looking in. I’ve come to realize that protecting freedom of choice in our everyday lives is essential to maintaining a healthy civil society.

Why do we think we are helping adult consumers by taking away their options? We don’t take away cars because we don’t like some people speeding. We allow state lotteries despite knowing some people are betting their grocery money. Everyone is exposed to economic risks of some kind. But we don’t operate mindlessly in trying to smooth out every theoretical wrinkle in life.

The nature of freedom of choice is that some people will misuse their responsibility and hurt themselves in the process. We should do our best to educate them, but without diminishing choice for everyone else.

No it wasn’t written by Goldwater nor by Ron Paul, It was actually written by George McGovern - the democratic candidate in 1972 which was consider than radical left. I can only dream to have a republican nominee that is that conservative…

Gorge Will has very little good to say about Castro:

I didn’t need this article to know that I married the perfect wife, but according to this research I must be in heaven:

I’m writing this quick post while trying to finish as many things at work before taking off to New Hampshire.

Yesterday’s results, which were somewhat disappointing, making the need for strong performance in New Hampshire much more vital. I didn’t think before, and I’m surely don’t think now, that Ron Paul had a real chance to win the nomination. However it is important to stay in the race, to be on the debates and influence the agenda. These primaries aren’t about who will be the next President, in 2008 the voter are not going to vote for a republican President - and rightfully so. It is about the future of the GOP, is it going to become the party of the evangelical movement, or those who prefer Robert Taft or Barry Goldwater’s heritage. From what I’m reading, at least in NH we have some reasons for optimism.

And one last thing. Yesterday when I was watching the news, disappointed from not getting in third place, a friend sent me this to cheer me up.

I’ll try to write, and post some pictures, from the primaries in the Granite state. It is going to be very interesting to watch the “Live Free or Die” state celebration of democracy.

I don’t know how significant this endorsement is, in today neoconservative GOP. However it should silence those who calling to remove Ron Paul from future GOP’s debates.
