Kevin Tillman joined the Army with his brother Pat in 2002, and they served together in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Pat was killed in Afghanistan on April 22, 2004. Kevin, who was discharged in 2005, has written a powerful, must-read document.

    I read his piece on truthdig, you are so right, especially for people who are risking their lives for other peoples' games/politics/powerplay etc.. they deserve to be respected and not be called unpatriotic when they say something that doesn't fit in with the sanitized view of those who prefer to stay safe and out of action, I thank my lucky stars that I have not had to be exposed to any military involvement.. that's also because I listened to my people after WW2.
