Stupid in America

Comments

John wrote about his thoughts after watching Stupid in America last night. John’s conclusion can be summarized as: Monopoly is bad, Government’s Monopoly is the worst.
Any one that argues for public education and against voucher basically admits that if parents had a choice they wouldn’t choose to send their children to public school. Furthermore, blocking the proposed vouchers is preventing the people with less money from getting better education.
Although I, in a perfect world, wouldn’t want the government to be involve with education at all – and I probably will discuss it in later post. However, excepting the fact that our tax money is being taken to provide education for everybody doesn’t equal to public schools system.  This equation is not only being wrong it is actually preventing the children of the middle and lower economic classes from getting better education.
So if preventing people from having a choice isn’t protect the education level our children getting who exactly are we protecting? The teachers (who by the way getting better salaries then in privet schools, go figure…), the board of education and the system of bureaucrats.
