The voters’ wisdom

Comments

Their is something to be said about the American voter’s wisdom. Regardless if they are from a blue state or red one the majority of the voters understand that their interest best served when the government power is divided:

While the dominant party is important, a majority of voters (52%) believe it is better to have control of the federal government split between Republicans and Democrats.  Thirty percent (30%) disagree, saying that single-party control is a better approach.  The party that’s currently in power may influence those responses: a plurality of Republicans (47%) favors the single-party control system while 60% of Democrats support divided control.

Another interesting, and encouraging, point from this survey is that:

Thirty percent (30%) believe that, despite good intentions, most major legislation passed by Congress does more harm than good.  Thirty-one percent (31%) disagree and 39% are not sure.
