Substance and appearance

While I have hard time understanding the general excitement around the candidacy of Barack Obama, I’m enjoying Ron Paul’s bid. While many of the blog readers might not agree with Ron Paul’s ideas, at least they aren’t hidden in a cover of campaign slogans.

Here is the simple comparison: Barack Obama’s announcement compared with Ron Paul’s announcement. While Obama win, easily, the coolness factor he simply doesn’t say anything. Ron Paul might not be as cools and charismatic as Obama but we know what his standing for.

I’m not naive, I know how modern elections look like and what the general focus usually on. But I tend to get excited about candidates with some substance rather than only the appearance of a movie star.
