Reason for hope

If the rumors, about Ron Paul’s campaign raising more than $4 million in the second quarter, are correct - it is really good news.

More money to the campaign, and the reports are that Ron Paul trailing only the leading candidates, mean longer ability to stay in the race. It might also indicate larger popular support than is being predicted by all the major pollsters. Both of these factor might help in the effort of shaping the debate in a direction that will be more appealing to Libertarian leaning voters. It is not necessary to be in the leading group of candidate (although it is much favored) in a tied race between several candidates. If Ron might be able to stay in the race all the way through the GOP convention, and if he will pick enough support, he might be able to become the swing vote.

The prediction above is more of a wishful thinking, but Ron Paul fund raising ability might indicate that he maybe able to position himself in strategic position before the nomination. Wouldn’t it be nice to be in the room when Giuliani request his support? :)
