The surprising news of the day: Hillary Clinton to launch a presidential campaign:

NEW YORK (AP) — Democratic Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton will embark on a widely anticipated campaign for the White House Saturday — a former first lady intent on becoming the nation’s first female president.

Clinton was expected to disclose plans to form a presidential exploratory committee on her Web site, according to Democratic officials familiar with the matter.

And I thought that she is running a presidential campaign for the last 7 years :)

Joking aside, Hillary Clinton is a worthy candidate if only because of her intelligence and competence. I however will not support her campaign, and wish that she will not be elected, because of her social view which I consider not only as wrong but as dangerous. It will be however fascinating campaign when a great candidate like Hillary Clinton is in it.

UPDATE: Hillary’s announcement . And yes, I agree with Ms. Clinton - it is going to be very interesting…

Any chance that Condoleezza Rice will run for the republican ticket, and the American public will have to choose between a woman and a black woman?

This is very interesting question. I don't think it is going to happened - mostly because Condoleezza Rice is associate with a , currently, unpopular war.
I have to admit that both, Hillary Clinton and Condoleezza Rice, are very competent. But I wouldn't vote for either, and not because their gender. Hillary, although she is trying to hide it, is a socialist. She tried to introduce a nationalization of the health care system (by "tricking" the house) and she still promote the slogan that "It takes a village to raise a child". Condoleezza Rice in the other hand represent the neo-conservative ideology of more active foreign policy (which as we can see is a complete failure) and less social freedom at home.
