It looks obvious

Peculiar decision

Comments

The news about Al Gore winning the Nobel Prize for peace getting a lot of attention in the media, and justifiably so. The question about his possible joining the Presidential race are also pretty reasonable. But very little is being said about the victory itself. Reading the Nobel price announcement, and for argument sake accepting the theory Al Gore’s advocate as concrete science, is a little confusing:

or their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change

The Nobel Prize for peace was given in the past to people that their contribution for peace was somewhat questionable - but that had obvious link to the the subject of the prize. Saving the environment, and I accept for argument sake that Al Gore argument are accurate which is by itself questionable,  and promoting world peace aren’t the same thing. The decision seems to infected by considerations that have very little to do with peace, and the effect on the respectability of Nobel Prize is not positive.
