It looks obvious

I often wondered what is the secret behind Starbucks. After all if one is looking for good coffee it will be elsewhere. But I think that I found one of the main reasons - When I was looking for a place to be for 2 hours, to be able to work and that nobody will make me uncomfortable taking my time - the obvious option was Starbucks. This is quite an achievement in an industry that was known for offering exactly that - relaxed place.

I guess that when the other coffee shops start to change, and tried to make more money by high turnover of customers, Starbucks recognized the need and capitalized on it. So, yes I’m seating here for 2 hours but how else would they be able to convince me to buy their coffee?
