Loyalty Day, 2006

Comments

It seems that being busy fighting for freedom causes the current administration to loose its common sense completely. Not only we are blessed with the patriot act , we are now going to enjoy official loyalty day . I guess those who are not loyal enough will have to face the guillotine or maybe to spend some time in the gulag.

But ranting aside, I have one question to the geniuses in the administration: what made you think that it is a good idea, as a capitalist country, to mark May 1st as official holiday?

Loyalty Day is also a time for us to reflect on our responsibilities to our country as we work to show the world the meaning and promise of liberty. The right to vote is one of our most cherished rights and voting is one of our most fundamental duties. By making a commitment to be good citizens, flying the American flag, or taking the time to learn about our Nation’s history, we show our gratitude for the blessings of freedom.
