Inevitable
Reading about Venezuela nationalizing the last private oil field on May 1st, I couldn’t avoid thinking about Ellis Wyatt:
Later, when they told her that Ellis Wyatt had vanished, leaving nothing behind but a board he had nailed to a post at the foot of the hill, when she looked at his handwriting on the board, she felt as if she had almost known that these would be the words:
"I am leaving it as I found it. Take over. It’s yours"
No, I don’t think that anyone should burn these oil fields. It may take a while because of the size of them, but I’m sure that the socialist state of Venezuela will run them down wasting the wealth they just robed.
