It looks obvious

The word Nigger has very bad connotations, its historical use has racist meaning and its current use is mostly vulgar. I really wish that people will avoid using this word, as many other words and expressions.

That being said I think that the populist decision of the NYC council isn’t only useless, attempting to achieve any educational purpose, but rather dangerous. The Idea that the government can ban the use of words and expression is the complete opposite to what Liberal democracy is. The fact that the current ban is only symbolic is irrelevant, the essence of government regulating what is allowed or not allowed to be said is something we should not engage with.
