It looks obvious

Liberal or Anti-Semitic?

The main premise of the post “Spreading war, not democracy” is somewhat convoluted. It is basically claims that the US actions in the Middle East are only for the benefits of Israeli interests; and since Israel is horrible country which is only allegedly democratic, the Bush administration actions are horrible too.

This post reminds me old Joke about Jewish person who lived in a small, poor, town in Easter Europe and read anti-Semitic newspaper that claims that the Jews control the world economy, politics and so on. When his friend wondered why he reads such crap he answers: “it is nice to know how powerful I am…”

The distorted logic in this post can be demonstrated by the following: Israel arrested terrorist, in an area that is in the Israeli sovereignty, and therefore prevented the Palestinian democracy and real representation.

In addition to blurring half fact, imaginations the post states “fact” that are simply wrong.  For example the following statement is simply wrong:

“But anyone with the slightest knowledge of Iran’s history would know that even a democratic Tehran is not likely to befriend Israel’s policies.”

But the biggest fallacy of this article isn’t the problem with the facts, since facts never bothered this kind of arguments, it is the stupidity. You might want to claim that the Bush administration policy regarding the Iranian nuclear development is wrong; you might want to argue that trying to force democracy in the Middle East is ill advised. But really, do you really believe it is done because it serves Israeli interest?

Someone claiming that might be either anti-Semitic or stupid. I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, but I can’t decide which one is worst.
