It just the beggining
Someone told me earlier today that my “campaign” to defend the freedom of speech is hypocrisy. The Jews, he said, would react just the same to Anti-Semite cartoons. Can you imagine the Jewish anti defamation league accepting such cartoon without fight? As example he remind me that recently the anti defamation league fought against a movie that portray the Jews 2000 years ago in bad light.
It is important to explain what the differences between these reactions are.
Firstly, no one deny the right of people to get offended from these cartoons. However the reaction needed to remain in the border of the democratic game: you can protest, you can explain, you can even request from the newspaper to remove the offending cartoons. Not these types of actions were taken by the Arab World.
Reading about political pressure in level of head of states indicating that democratic culture of Western Europe is completely foreign to these backward regimes. While one can understand that the Mob in the Middle East doesn’t understand the western culture, but how can we explain the expressions in Muslim’s demonstration in Europe.
I said it before and I’ll say it again. Europe, and the entire Western world, is under cultural attack for years. If in the past immigrants to the west accepted the western code, this is not the case in recent years. While exploiting the western openness and tolerance immigrants, from the Middle East, forcing their way of life on the west.
It is perfectly OK with me if someone wants to keep his backward way of life. It is completely un-acceptable when he tries to pull me down with him.

I have looked at the Danish cartoons and I don't see anything tasteless about them - they don't even come close to anti religious (read: Christian) cartoons we see almost daily.
