It isn’t pettiness
It will be interesting to see how the story of Al Gore using private jet will developed; although I’m sure the story isn’t that interesting, after all we already know that he is advocating for other people behavior change - not his. Dealing with this kind of stories, like pointing out that Naomi Klein using the same marketing she advocating against, might seems somewhat petty - but it isn’t. We should except people to follow what they advocate for.
I never believed that Gore’s motivation was the belief that we are facing a disaster. Reading Gore’s testimony before the Senate committee few months ago I realized that he, brilliantly, using the global warming hysteria as a powerful tool to promote his social agenda. The example, or the lack of, Gore set with his own behavior is just additional indicator. And if someone will argue that expecting politicians to set an example is to naive, I will agree. I don’t expect from politician very much, that is why I am not rushing to hand them the power to run my life.
