Google PC

First I saw it on Digg quoting the LA Times , but I dismissed it as rumor without giving it too much thought. But then a reputable Israeli blog quoted the guardian with the same basic news and I cannot ignore it anymore: the Google PC.

Judging from Google’s latest products I wouldn’t hold my breath…

But on more serious note, Google declared in the past that the company is focused on its core business of search and organization of the information in the world. How new PC with Google OS integrate into that?

Reading both article more closely reveal that expectation to full scale OS will lead to disappointment. From reading the specifics in these articles Google PC, at least in the beginning, will have capabilities with handling media files. These capabilities make much more sense.

Should Microsoft worry, yes sure. Do we have a real alternative to Windows, I’m not so sure.

Reading the guardian more closely reveal that they also “digged” it from the same place as everybody else…

Link: And now, for Google’s next trick …

"Despite its low price it would enable users to collect and store internet-delivered content such as films, music and photos then show it on TV.

According to the LA Times, Google will announce details of the new device at CES, where it could also unveil its partnership with Wal Mart to sell the machines."
