It looks obvious

Europe, Darfur needs you!

Comments

When all is over, when the few survivors will raise from the burned villages, when they will look you in the eyes, what will you tell them? When they will try to understand how come you knew about the murders, that news about the massacres flooded your media, when your governments talk and talk and did nothing. When they ask you why didn’t you help, what would you say?

You already told the Jews and the gypsies after WWII that you couldn’t realize; you already apologized after Rwanda ; you had so many excuses throughout the years, what story will you tell the few that will survive?

Link: Where is Europe’s voice against genocide?

Europe has been missing in action. It has not labeled what is taking place as genocide. It has not supported the United States in advocating stronger action by the United Nations. It has not picked up on the idea that NATO ought to get involved to provide the kind of security for the people of Darfur that the African Union has not provided.

It is time that this story were told, in the hope that exposure might generate enough pressure and public embarrassment to reverse the European position.
