Machiavellian promises

2008 campaign, humor

Populist statements like this from Mrs. Clinton aren’t the kind that will convince Libertarians to vote for the Democratic candidate:

Clinton also said she would raise taxes for the wealthy, who she said "aren’t paying their fair share." She also praised the economic policies of her husband that brought budget surpluses.

And Although it would be a nice game to identify all the mistakes in the above statement I found the following statement much more interesting:

Hillary Rodham Clinton said Saturday that if she is elected president, she would make her husband a roaming ambassador to the world, using his skills to repair the nation’s tattered image abroad.

This is simply beautiful - First getting the credit in the campaign for using her very popular husband, and get rid of him, sending him to all the awful places in the world, as soon as she is elected president. Cool, isn’t it? :)
