It looks obvious

Israelis often complaints about the quality of state PR in times of crisis. The general feeling is that the Foreign ministry fails to explain the Israeli side of the story. In the other hand it is completely understood that it is harder to explain complex issues in a few second segment on a news reports, mostly when your "competition" is able to have its PR done by simple pictures with simplified cause and effect.

This war push many Israelis, many of them long time Hebrew bloggers, to start blogging in English. They aren’t attempting to replace the Foreign Ministry, not to deal with Israeli PR at all. They attempt to open conversation that aren’t limited to 10 seconds segment and are dealing with the concern, the worries and the beliefs of these bloggers.

I’m listing here a few of these blogs, which I added to my RSS aggregator and recommend to others:

  1. Israelina
  2. Abu Kedem - a mix of Hebrew an English posts
  3. AbbaGav
  4. Daled Amos
  5. Between a Rocket and a Hard Place
  6. Intellect or Insanity
  7. Blogging the war from Israel

This is only a partial list of Israeli bloggers who decide to break more then just a language barrier and blog in English.
