Crash course
I said before that his electability is a legend that would be blown as the Clinton start giving him personal treatment, but apparently his rivals at the GOP didn’t want to leave her the pleasure.
Observation
Watching several elections, in more than one country, and watching closely the long primaries I tend to agree with the claim that democratic elections are a very well designed process to choose the least qualified candidate for wrong, and most of the time irrelevant, reasons. It is not that I’m advocating for a different method - I don’t know one that is better, but I’m more than convince that minimizing the power handed to these people, to effect decent people lives, is the best solution to minimize the damage they can cause.
Its the economy stupid
In an NPR report about Ron Paul the interviewer was astonished by the fact that during a rally most of the applause were when Ron Paul said that the constitution doesn’t provide for a central bank. It was obvious that Ron Paul position on the war, or when he use general terms when discuss personal liberty will generate applause - but sound money? the Federal Reserve? why should the young crowd even care?
The answer is simple - because they are going to pay the price, they are already paying. And the price tag is scary.
Yes, the war in Iraq drawn the initial attention to Ron Paul, but it is the economy which will make the difference. As the unavoidable results of on going war, and irresponsible inflationary policy becoming more obvious many people, from unlikely corners of the political spectrum, stop dismissing the call for responsible and conservative economical policy. It is interesting to see when the first tier candidates will understand that they have to adopt some of the ideas, or at least the terminology, to maintain their chances to win.
Getting involved
A good friend of mine sent me an e-mail, telling me about a support rally for Ron Paul he attended this weekend. He is usually not the type of person that join rallies, so he felt a need to explain:
Yes, I broke down and got involved. As ordinarily not a person of guilt, I will call it a result of "honor" and "responsibility". In other words, if I’m standing in line to see the doctor in 2010, with my heathcare ration cards, I will proudly tell my fellow sufferers that IT’S NOT MY GODDAMN FAULT!

Few months ago all I hoped from Ron Paul candidacy was that many people will be exposed to the message of liberty. It seems that it is happening - the on going war in Iraq, the recession and the feeling that the political course of increasing government tyranny is wrong - making more and more people get involved. I don’t know what will be the outcome of the Primaries but it will be shame if the crowd gathered to make a change will not used to build an on going effort to influence a real change.
Back at work
Going back to work the day after arriving back from Israel is not the most fun thing I ever done. Trying to fight the hundreds of e-mails and many issues, which I completely ignored when vacationed, while fighting the jet-lag is making the usual Monday “back to work” mood even worse. The truth is that it all would be much easier if I wouldn’t comeback with mixed feeling from Israel - Some sad thoughts about the levantinization of Israel, but I need to recover from the jet-lag before righting this post…
Facts checking
It is nice to remind the MSM that the rules of the game are changing. Nasty biased remarks, mostly when they are unfounded, will be challenged and one’s professional credibility will be on the line.

The best moments
If you ever wondered what are the best moments in life I can tell you that I already know the answer:
Mid November’s weather
One of the small funs of being in the middle of November in Eilat, in what the hotel calls “on the water room”, is to check the weather at home and see this:

It looks much nicer here

The rise of the spaghetti monster
The flying spaghetti monster is finally getting the recognition it deserve
Joking aside - I never understood the demand of religious leaders to teach religious dogma as a scientific theory. The fact is that the risk for the dogma is much higher when it requires to stand a scientific scrutiny. Separating the two, Science and Religion, protect both from each other methods. It is very much like the increasing involvement of religious leader in American politic that invited political involvement and influence on religious affairs. What those who advocate for teaching the so called scientific theory, creationism, in science classes - instead of social classes - is that they aren’t protecting their believes rather than making it a caricature.
Nice endorsement
I don’t know how significant this endorsement is, in today neoconservative GOP. However it should silence those who calling to remove Ron Paul from future GOP’s debates.
